With the Bratislava Card you can use public transport in Bratislava free of charge and unlimited. The card is valid as a ticket for the integrated transport system (IDS BK) in Bratislava and the surrounding region. The following means of transport are included:

  • Streetcars
  • Trolleybuses
  • Buses (lines 1-199, night lines N21-N99, lines X)
  • Red regional buses from Arriva (lines 205-799)
  • Trains (lines S8 - S70 and R20 - R70

The City Card is not valid for the Bratislava-Hainburg line and transport in towns and villages in the Trnava region.

In addition to the Bratislava Card, an ID card must also be presented at a ticket inspection. The card is valid for 24, 48 or 72 hours from the time of purchase, depending on the option selected.

A child under the age of 18 can travel free of charge with an adult's ticket.

Using the Bratislava Card on public transport is easy, but varies depending on the situation. On urban transport, you only need to show the card at ticket inspections. Be prepared that you may also have to show your identity card or passport. On regional transport, the situation is slightly different: here you show your card to the bus driver or conductor when boarding.

If you have a plastic card, the control staff will look at the back. They will see your name and the date and time of activation. With the digital version, you show the ticket inspector an electronic ticket with a QR code. This also contains a countdown for the remaining period of validity. The digital version also works offline.

No matter what type of ticket you have: You must be able to identify yourself with the Bratislava Card if you are checked. To be on the safe side, have your ID card or passport ready in case you need to confirm your identity.
